Can/Am Ch Fantail's Sunshine Man
Sire: Am/Can/Bda Ch Marengohhill's Hello Sunshine
Dam: Am/Can/Bda Ch Fantail's Snowboots

April 29, 1979 - February 23, 1989

Sunny & Frank This lovely boy was bred by Honey Glendenning and owned by Frank and Carole Felice, North Bay, Ontario.

So much has been written about the amazing show career of this great dog.

In the December 1989 Issue of Dogs in Canada he was declared the Top Dog, All Breeds, All-Time, in the history of Canadian dog shows!!!

His accomplishments were so spectacular that there is some doubt that his record will ever be topped. He achieved the highest point total ever earned by a Canadian "Top Dog" (19,930) and the greatest number of Best in Show wins of any top dog in Canadian history--a career total of 53 Best in Shows, and 38 of them won during the 1982 season.
Although 1982 was a most unforgettable year for Sunny, 1984 was just as memorable. Shown sparingly in both Canada and the US he won the E.S.A.A. "National" Specialty, the California English Setter Club Specialty, 9 Canadian Best in Shows and 3 US Best in Shows and became the #1 English Setter in both Canada and the US in 1984 -- probably the first time a dog has been #1 in both countries in the same year!

In his early years Sunny was always shown by Frank. He and Carole are firm believers that dogs should only be shown in peak 'condition' and to this end Sunny has always been road worked and excerised every day. The hard work has been worth it when Sunny won his first Best in Show (with Frank on the lead) under the well - known movement/anatomy expert, Quentin LaHam. Frank was also on the lead when Sunny won the E.S.C.C. "National" pictured above.

Garrett LambertSunny and Garret was Sunny's only other handler and very best friend. In January of 1981 Garrett took Sunny to the States where he quickly earned his American Championship at not quite 2 years of age. Sunny caused quite a stir amongst the other exhibitors and handlers and shortly thereafter the Felices were flooded with offers to buy him, and others from well known U.S. handlers who wanted to campaign him. But the Felices loved their boy and wanted him home with them; and Sunny loved Garrett...and thus began the show legacy of Fantail's Sunshine Man.

Sunny was the sire of 8 litters in Canada and the United States with many, many Canadian and American Champion offspring resulting. He also has BIS & Specialty winning Grandchildren.
